I prefer to speak Dutch as opposed to English, but wouldn't mind (an) English (part of the) forums, though. But hey, I am biased, as I am Dutch

How do you think our younger members will cope with an English forum?

We will give you all several days for adaptation, but afterwards, all new dutch topics will be deleted.

We will allow a 2 month period to give you some time to translate the topics you have posted so far, afterwards, these too will be deleted.

We can no longer ignore the wider audience we are gaining at the moment.

I can speak english verry well but writhing it is a living hell...
I will try but my writhing is not that strong !

But i think it"s a good improve ment the forum will grow faster and more ppl means more knoledge !

Look people, it is not such a big deal, you will have two months, and next time, you will think about the information value of your post before you post it.

After all, I will have to do the biggest translation job.

I don't think translating would be that difficult, the people who aren't good at English can always write their blog in Google Translate and then copy paste the text here.
If the sentences are a complete mess, we can always correct the errors though

By the way, we know that the peeps who still go to school have a two weeks holiday coming up

If anyone needs help translating something into English, let me know and I will help you. I truly don't mind going English for this forum, but give me some space to manouver in, like now when I don't have my firefox helping me with word-spelling. I truly suck at spelling words, I know a bunch, but just not their spelling .

Hmm, I'm not going to like it very much. I prefer speaking Dutch. I can speak and write english pretty well, but it is just easier in Dutch.

Aside from the fact you probably lose alot of young dutch people, you also lose the unique selling point.(which obvious is the dutch language) So now you have to compete with forums like antstore.de and al the others.

Ik think it is not the best choice, but we will see

It is aprils fools day??
I geuss we will get more members this way, the effort some people spend in topics with nice pictures,topic details etc... is great.
But, "There is always a 'but' lol, having this forum in dutch makes it a little easyer for people to learn there beginning steps in this hobby and easyer to read and write.
There are already a few forums in english, I would let options open for everyone to make a choice in this one, if someone wanne write in dutch or english because its a free country . I doubt it woulnd hurt mutch if you leave people free in this matter , you have already then a few plusses outsiders can read the few things that are writed in english.
Just wanne share my opinion.

Buiten het feit dat we ons kostelijk geamuseerd hebben, was het bovendien interessant om de uiteenlopende reacties over het plotse overschakelen naar het Engels te lezen. Het zou leerrijk zijn, mocht daar nog even over worden verder gediscussieerd, maar doe het dan wel in het Nederlands he .

Het is inderdaad zo dat er veel internationale bezoeker zijn .

Het zou dan geen gek idee zijn.
Als engels sprekende mensen zich willen aan melden vindt ik dat het zou moeten kunnen en dan bij hun "blogs" "vragen" in het engels.
Dit zou meer kennis naar het forum brengen en wie is daar op tegen.

Klopt, maar geen enkel forum heeft zoveel goede informatie online als het onze, vandaar al die Amerikanen, Australiërs en Duitsers die Google Translate gebruiken om ons forum te kunnen lezen

Klopt en foto's zeggen soms meer dan woorden, Jullie zouden de foto's copyrighted moeten maken.

Mijn foto's zijn copyrighted hoor, ze vallen onder de volgende licentie "Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs Creative Commons".
Dat wil zeggen dat ze vrij gebruikt mogen worden onder voorwaarde dat ze niet worden bewerkt of worden gebruikt voor commerciële doeleinden.
